A modest proposal for people who travel for work

Decrapify business travel.

The booking portal. The expenses portal. The itinerary app that mostly wants to sell you something. We cannot fix all of it. We can take the trip admin off your hands: paste one sentence into your agent, and it signs you up, brings in your bookings and comes back with a time to leave for every journey.

Paste it into your agent. You confirm it is you, approve access, verify your email once and say which trip. Your agent does the rest.

Needs an agent that can read your email and connect to MCP servers. Without an invite code, signing up puts you on the waitlist.

The first run, itemised

"Import my booking emails" never means the whole mailbox. Your agent agrees the trip with you before it reads anything, and forwards only those bookings.

What comes back

A saved trip, and a time to leave.

Trip saved · London, then Munich · Thu 12 NovExample. Estimates, not guarantees.

Your agent, when it is done

"Done. I found four booking emails for the Munich trip and placed all four in one trip: the flight, both hotels and the conference registration."

Potniq has calculated the journeys between them. Your first leave-by time is 07:50 on Thursday.

  • Leg 01 · 18–40 min

    The Hoxton → QEII Centre

    Leave by 07:50

  • Leg 02 · 45–80 min

    QEII Centre → Heathrow T5

    Leave by 15:05

  • Leg 03 · 35–50 min

    Munich Airport → Hotel, Maxvorstadt

    On arrival

Each range is calculated for that route at that hour. You choose your own airport buffer.

Ranges

18 to 40 minutes, not "about twenty". The range shows the risk, so you decide how early is early enough.

Changes

Plans move. Tell your agent, and Potniq recalculates the journeys and gives you new times.

Calendar

Export the trip to your calendar if you would rather look there.

One page, two readers

Half of this page is not for you.

For the traveller

You should not have to learn another travel app. So we stopped making you.

  1. 01 Copy the prompt.
  2. 02 Paste it into an agent that can read your email and connect to MCP servers.
  3. 03 Do the human parts when it asks: confirm it is you, approve access, verify your email, say which trip.

Setup steps for Codex and Claude Code are in the connection guide. Pilot: agent compatibility is still being verified.

For the agent

# Potniq, for agents
Your traveller asked you to sign them up
and import their booking emails.
Start with the guide.

guide https://potniq.com/start
server https://api.potniq.com/mcp
auth OAuth. The traveller signs up
           and approves consent. Never
           do either for them.

# House rules
1. Agree the trip, dates and mailbox
   before you read any mail.
2. Forward only in-scope bookings,
from a verified mailbox, to the
   address Potniq reports.
3. Place each import. Ask one short
question only when it is unclear.
4. Check get_trip_completion before
   you call the trip done.
5. Potniq does not book or rebook.
Do not imply that it can.

In the interest of not adding to the crap

Things we cannot decrapify.

The 06:10 departure. The hotel wifi. The middle seat. The expenses portal, which is beyond the reach of any technology.

We do one thing: the time between your commitments.

And what Potniq itself does not do

  1. 01 It does not book, rebook or contact providers. No affiliate links, no commission.
  2. 02 It does not read your mailbox. Your agent sends only the bookings for the trip you agreed.
  3. 03 It does not guarantee arrival. Times are estimates, shown as a range.
  4. 04 It does not time the airport itself. You choose your buffer.

Less crap. One sentence.

No app to download and no form to fill in, which is rather the point.
